What is StartupCause?
Startupcause brings together the leaders of local initiatives that help entrepreneurs create more and better businesses. Our goal is to spread best practices for replicating and improving these initiatives, provide local organizers with peer support, and facilitate funding.
Startupcause is a collaborative effort of Entrepreneurs Commons, First Tuesday, Startup School, Startup Weekend and many more.
How does StartupCause do that today?
- we are organizing our first event on 11/17/10 and 11/18/10 in the San Francisco Bay Area to showcase initiatives that support entrepreneurs all over the world, gather the feedback from the local organizers, and to meet face to face to exchange best practices and define the next steps for an organization that will federate these initiatives. Register now!
- we are creating a web site (under this domain) that will serve as a backbone to promote and support for these initiatives and the people that lead them around the world, and that will point you to the tools that will empower you locally.
- we have created a mailing list that allows you to join the discussion today!
Why StartupCause, why now?
All around the world entrepreneurs are getting organized. They are sharing ideas, knowledge, and experience, to start and grow new ventures. They creating new funding opportunities for themselves. They are inventing new ways of collaborating.
There is a lot of learn from what is being done and how.
But today these efforts are often disconnected, or locally competing for the attention of their audience.
Startup Cause is assembling a portfolio of the best initiatives, to empower entrepreneurs everywhere to help themselves throughout all the development stages of their ventures.
What value can we create together? e.g. learning, income, impact:
- Learning from the existing leaders of initiatives from around the word
- Social Impact: the goal is to create a federated face for all these initiatives to help in the dialogue with corporate sponsors, foundations, academia and government
