welcome:

NAYA JEEVAN is the emerging world’s first not-for-profit, “HMO for the Marginalized” (http://www.njfk.org). Our model was showcased as a featured commitment at the Clinton Global Initiative in September 2009 and more recently at Ted India in November 2009.

NAYA JEEVAN (‘new life’ in urdu/hindi) has launched a globally innovative social enterprise that invokes a unique cost-sharing paradigm leveraging corporate social responsibility, citizen philanthropy, academic/corporate/SME/NGO distribution channels/networks, technological automation/innovation and economies of scale. Our primary mandate is to protect and empower low-income families in the emerging world by providing them with affordable access to quality  healthcare. At a cost of only $1.25/child/month and $2.50/adult/month (90% of this premium is paid by employers or sponsors with minority contributions from beneficiaries, employers of employers (for the informal sector) and municipal/state/federal governments), low-income employees (drivers, maids, cooks, school teachers, factory workers, waiters, etc. and their spouse/dependents) are covered at all major , private hospitals throughout Pakistan up to an annual limit of PKR 150,000 per person which is sufficient to cover the cost of cardiac bypass surgery, etc .

We are seeking College/University representative to organize "Friends of NAYA JEEVAN" fundraising chapters across the US/Canada. As part of our community outreach we would like NJ campus REPS to organize screenings of the highly acclaimed documentary "Made in Pakistan" that has been featured at the SAI film festival and for which we own the exclusive screening rights in North America.  REPS will be financially incentivized through a revenue-sharing arrangement in which they will retain 10% of all revenues from these screenings.

What value can we create together? e.g. learning, income, impact:

The monetary value of this project is approximately $125,000. Each campus rep can expect to earn up to $1000 for their participation in the documentary screenings/fundraising initiatives.
